I did a couple of installs on VMs and then a side by side install (with 7.0.2) on my own machine.
Often, the soft blue IBM screen (where you see the IBM logo in the centre and that's all) would be displayed for a minute or longer. During this time there was no disk activity and no CPU (I use process explorer). Even still, there was stuff going on because eventually, I would get a repaint and the UI would load up its content. I did "kill" things a few times but with a little more experience I now know that it never actually "hangs" (at least in my case).
When things are acting strange now, the first thing I do is nothing and it usually works.
